This research topic has been selected to see the impact of western events on young generation of our country. Questionnaires were given to the youngster’s separately Questionnaires consist of 14 questions and we gave 30 copies of questions to separate individuals. The results are showed on pie charts and there is little discussion on every question. We came to know that youngsters like to celebrate western events but they also know that these often create vulgarity among them. One side they agree that these events mislead new generation and may cause deviant behavior but they also attract towards those events because of their glamour. There are positive and negative responses from youngsters toward western events. Observation shows that if youngsters know the reason and history that belong to western events, encourage their attitude may become changed toward these events. The negative impact of western events may be controlled by the adult and should be encourage with Islamic values and local cultural events. 2. Introduction The aim of the reports is to find out the cultural change that is going to be invited by the young generation through their way of celebration. As the sources of the research we have exploited books, internet and went for surveying people etc. the result shows both the good and bad impact of the way of celebration of the young generation on our society and culture which survey on our society and which surely opens doors for culture change. 2. 1 What is an Event? An event is usually staged by a local community, which enters on some unique aspect of that community. Among many religions, event is a set of celebration in honors of God/s. But in common Events is a program that is usually held at regular intervals often in one place. People are waiting for those days to celebrate these events. Often events comes in once in the year. These events differ from each other on the basis of religious and geographical characteristics of the people. The events allow the people to rejoice themselves. It also creates a cultural harmony among them. 2. 2 The nature of western events Now a day, because of amazing development in the field of science world has become the global village. Western culture attracts the people all over the world. Western events are not only associated with the national days and Religions days they also celebrate social problem and occasion specific to a day. Western people celebrate New Year Day, valentine Day, Friendship Day, Rose Day, Love Day, and Music Day with great zeal. They also associate days with the love and devotion towards father and mother and celebrate father’s day and mother’s day. The purpose to celebrate the teacher’s day is to give tribute to teachers. In Bangladesh many people celebrate New Year, on 1st January. Due to blessing of media, youngsters like to celebrate valentine day. They try to wear red dresses and exchange gifts their friends and fiance. Neither they feel know the history of these events nor of the purpose of the celebration. Western events are much charming and glamour’s. These events are unique and also enjoyable. Another event which is celebrated on 1st April, some non serious or naughty people making fun of others by making them fool without any reason, purpose and without any feeling on this day. People make false stories and tell others for seeking happiness and enjoyment in the trouble and worries of other people. Some of western events may celebrate to point out or locate special social problems. World no smoking day, tobacco day, pollution day, health day, population day, labor day, are some of   these events. Valentine day, friendship day, rose day, color day. Costumes day, Christmas day are some events which are much popular among youngsters. 3. Method The objectives of the study are: * To find out the effect of western events on youth’s life. * To analyze the interest of youth in western events. * To find out that how much youth adopting western events. * To find out the causes of attending western events. The research topic was selected in order to observe to the impact of western events on the young generation of Bangladesh who like to adopt western culture. As the research Procedure simple techniques were used for data collection. There are 25 respondents fill the research questionnaire. The respondents are the youngsters of Samford University Bangladesh and some youngsters who were available on that time. The collected data was analyzed through percentages and then these percentages converted on to pie charts through ms excel. Pie chart shows clearly the responses of the youngsters. As we asked the youngsters n 80% response as positive and 20% response as negative. 8. Pie chart 6 shows the responses of people towards western events provide the plat form for unethical activities  As we asked youngsters, you agreed that western events provide the plat form to unethical activities, 75% of them answered yes and 25% answer no. 9. Pie 7 shows the responses of people towards Western events may cause deviant behavior among youth. As we asked to the youngsters 90% agreed that western events may cause deviant behavior among and 10% of them response as No. 0. Pie chart 8 shows the responses of people towards Western events effects our culture. As we asked the youngsters that do you agree that western events effects our own culture of Bangladesh then 85% answered yes and 15% answered no. 11. Pie chart 9 shows the responses of youngsters towards which are mostly happened by the practice of western events in our country. 60% said that western events responsible to affect our culture of Bangladesh, 30% said that it is responsible vulgar young generation and 10% said that it is responsible western increase crime rate. When we asked the youngster the contingency question that, what is youngster are thinking in the context of our country western cultures have some positive sides- most of them agreed with the positive side of western culture because they thought that it helps us to enhance different types of knowledge, moderate our lifestyle. Some of them got negative side because they thought that it increased adopt bad thing, illegal drugs using and forgetting own culture. When we requested the youngster to describe that, how they observe their religious festival, most of them said that, they observe their religious festival as it is said in their religion from the core of their heart with their family. Eid- Ul- Fitr is the most famous festival of young generation. 14. When we requested the youngsters that, what do they think about the practice of western culture change the pattern of young behavior of young people- most of them agreed western culture changed the behavior of young people, like young people are addicted with drugs, effected the religious believe, it also bring changes in their daily lifestyle. Western events celebrated most of the young generation. Youngsters don’t know the history or purpose of these western celebrations but they just celebrate for entertainment. According to results majority of youngsters are interested in western events. Youngsters celebrate western events because they think that these events are more charming and attractive. So they like to celebrate these kinds of events. Youngsters believe that western events miss lead new generation and our religion doesn’t allow us to celebrate these events. About 60% youngsters thought that these events increase international relations but remaining 40% do not think like this. All youngsters agree that media increase the interest of these events in youth and majority of them think that its effects the Pakistani culture. High numbers of respondents agree that these events provide wrong path to our youth and it also creates complex between different classes. They agree that crime rate increase due to western events and it is also a cause of vulgarity among youngsters but youngsters like to celebrate western events because these attracts youth because of its charm and glamour. Many of the young generation like to celebrate these events because they thought that these events provide the way to express their feelings in a new shape like in the form of valentine day etc. some are against these events because they strongly followed the religious events and don’t like to celebrate any western events. 6. Recommendation From the findings that are discussed yet, it can be said that the impact of western culture is a part of modernization. But it can be considered also as a problem in our country’s perspective. Because many of the young people of our country are addicted day by day to the negative sides of western culture. For this reason after the observation the following recommendation are suggested recommendations: * There should be vast opportunities for young people to know and learn more about our traditional culture. * They should be made aware what are traditional cultures and what western cultures are.

Off and On Compounds Off and On Compounds Off and On Compounds By Mark Nichol Off and on frequently appear as prefixes, but word structure can vary: Should the prefix be hyphenated to the root word, or should the entire word be a closed compound? This post lists examples of such terms. Prefixed words, like compound words, go through an evolutionary process. Unlike as is the case with compounds, however, there is no open phase. Online, offbeat, and the like derive from the idea of being â€Å"on a line† or â€Å"off the beat,† for example, but they never existed as â€Å"on line† or â€Å"off beat.† (â€Å"On line† is a dialectal variant of â€Å"in line,† referring to standing in a queue, but this sense is distinct from the notion of an electronic link.) However, the former did start out in hyphenated form, transitioning during the 1990s as web browsing went mainstream (though a few publications and organizations remain holdouts), while offbeat was coined as a closed compound. Closed off- and on- constructions are prevalent, but some hyphenated terms persist. Generally, however, if the word is a noun, it is closed. Consider the following: offshoot and offspring, and onlooker and onset. (However, off-ramp and on-ramp stubbornly remain hyphenated.) Adjectives seem to be more of a mixed bag: Besides offbeat and online, closed compounds include offsetting and ongoing and the pairs offside and onside, offshore and onshore, and offstage and onstage (all of which are occasionally seen hyphenated). But note the pairs on-air and off-air and off-screen and on-screen, as well as off-color, off-key, off-limits, and off-white. (A few such terms, such as off-screen and on-screen, occasionally appear closed.) Note that phrases beginning with off or on that serve to modify a noun are hyphenated before it, as in â€Å"off-the-cuff remarks† and â€Å"on-the-job injuries.† Treatment after the noun varies, however, according to whether the phrase is permanent or temporary. Off-the-cuff, which appears in dictionaries, is rendered as such after the noun (â€Å"remarks made off-the-cuff†), while â€Å"on the job† is not considered a standing phrase, so it is not hyphenated when it follows a noun (â€Å"injuries that occurred while an employee was on the job†). How does one know the difference between such phrases? One keeps a list or consults a dictionary, or both. This is an example of symmetrical model where mutual understanding is created between the public and the organisation. An example of asymmetrical model would be the super size me issue, whereby after obtaining feedback from various organisations, McDonalds added more items on the menu and reinforcing its wholesome goodness of their products through advertisements and debates located on the site entitled A balanced diet, a balanced debate. This is because according to Johnston and Zawawi, feedback is used to determine what the publics attitudes are toward the organisation and how they might be changed (2004, p.9) The changes that are evident here is through the dynamics of their method of communicating themselves towards their publics, from recurring changes of their advertising themes to the usage of different media to communicate to their consumers through the distribution of nutrition leaflets, posts on the internet to name a few.  3. Specifically, if McDonalds has not been catering to the needs of its customers ever since the Super size me crisis, and that customers do not patron McDonalds, and whether mutual benefits have not been created, only then can it be said to be a threat.  Super size me should not even be an issue, to Spurlock making complaints about him experiencing physical discomfort which includes internal and external physical tolls on his body in the form of increase in blood sugar and high blood pressure levels, one has to bear in mind that it was due to choice and that he has brought it upon himself. This was the point brought up by another film maker that chose to prove that one could still eat McDonalds and still be healthy. This will be exercised by Soso Whaley where is stated in the site entitled competitive enterprise institute, Whaley will document her experience of eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner at McDonalds for the month of April to dramatize the debate over public health and what has been termed Americas obesity epidemic. While we spend billions of taxpayer dollars every year in efforts to shut down Marijuana clinics across the nation, we kill an industry that can very well provide jobs to our countrymen and provide the national government with billions in income that can be generated from regulated sales of the plant. Taking a page out of the prohibition era when alcohol was banned thus creating an underground economy that boomed without the government getting its fair share in terms of taxes. However, legalizing the use of Marijuana for medical and recreational purposes has its economic benefits as the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington have come to realize. Although Hassan and Amir’s relationship seemed unbreakable, the winter of 1975 changed everything. Amir tells us of the major â€Å"kite fighting† competition that happens every year with all the local kids. Soon after Amir wins the competition that year, tragedy occurs with Hassan in a back alley, he is raped by a neighborhood boy, Assef. Amir witnesses this and tells no one about it. This later unravels the relationship between him and Hassan resulting in Hassan and Ali leaving Amir and Baba’s home. Throughout the novel, Amir is completely changed from this event. Throughout the book Amir struggles to be the son his father, Baba wants him to be. He feels that his father burdens Amir with the death of his mother because she died giving birth to Amir. Amir tells how Baba is very critical of him and makes him feel as though he can never reach his father’s expectations. Amir feels as though he needs to fight with Hassan for his father’s approval. Although he never had an ideal relationship with Baba, Amir loves and respects him to the fullest. Baba guides Amir through life helping him in becoming the best man he can be. Later in the novel Amir realizes how much he appreciated Baba.

Career Profile: Physical Therapy Assistant Health Care Career: Physical Therapy Assistant Rodny German Sotolongo Job Description Physical therapy assistants (PTAs) offer care in varying forms including teaching clients/patients exercises for purposes of mobility, coordination and strength, training patients on how to use mobility aids such as walkers, cranes or crutches (American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), 2014). They also offer massage and train patients on the same as well as use of electrotherapy and physical agents such as electrical stimulation and ultrasound. Therefore, PTAs usually offer physical therapy services while under the supervision and direction of licensed physical therapists. These services are offered to persons of different ages with medical conditions or problems or any other health-related condition, which limits their capability to move or undertake functional activities during their everyday lives (APTA, 2014). Additionally, PTAs also measure any changes in the performance of a patient due to the physical therapy that has been offered. Their work settings vary from outpatient clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, schools, home health to sports facilities and private practices. The scope of practice for the PTAs as set by the APTA consists of examining patients and their histories, testing and measuring their strength, balance, range of motion, muscle performance, coordination, posture, motor function and respiration under the supervision and direction of a licensed PT (APTA, 2014). They may also be involved in implementing the various patients’ treatment plans through the various modes of therapy to ensure continuity of care. With continuing treatment, progress is documented, and modifications may be made and implemented according to the PTs directions. The standard code of ethics for PTAs as delineated by the House of Delegates of the APTA emphasizes the special obligation of a PTA to ensure that a patient achieves greater independence, wellness and health as well as improved life quality (APTA, 2008). This is achieved by respecting patients’ rights and dignity, being compassionate and trustworthy, abiding by the law during decision-making and demonstrating integrity in their workplace. They should also enhance their competence by acquiring skills, knowledge and abilities. Education, Registration and certification A PTA education should be obtained from an accredited college or university after a two-year CAPTE-accredited associate degree. The program usually takes two years comprised of five semesters during which general education, clinical education and physical therapy courses are offered. The contents of primary physical therapy include although not limited to physiology and anatomy, biomechanics, kinesiology, exercise physiology, clinical pathology, neuroscience, behavioral sciences, ethics/values and communication (Education Portal, 2013). About 75 percent of a PTA curriculum is based on lab and classroom (didactic) study with the remaining 25 percent being dedicated for clinical education. A PTA student must also spend an average of 16 weeks on full-time experiences of clinical education. Ideally, the whole program costs about 7,816 dollars and 26,493 dollars in tuition fees in public and private institutions annually respectively according to 2008 approximations. Upon completion of the PTA program, one is awarded an associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistant. In order to practice as a PTA, one ought to be registered, certified or licensed by the particular state he/she wishes to work in, which requires passing of the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) (APTA, 2014). This exam is administered by the State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT). Completion of continuing education is also necessary in order to ensure that certification or licensure is maintained. Besides, PTAs are expected to be CPR certified. Employment The job outlook for this career shows a high demand for PTAs within the healthcare workforce despite the downturn in the economy. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that there will be a 35 percent growth in PTA employment between 2008 and 2018, which is a much faster rate of growth than any other healthcare occupation as the demand for their services grows. For example, in the month of October there were 2500 PTA jobs advertised in LinkedIn. Apparently, there are jobs that require one to have some experience while others welcome even those without experience (Education Portal, 2013). Ideally, those with experience are more preferable due to the skills, knowledge and the abilities that they possess, which at the same time warrants a higher pay compared to those without experience. The latter definitely start with a lower remuneration. Entry-level PTAs often start with a median salary of $42,100 although it may be as low as $32,420 while experienced PTAs earn a median salary of $52,160, which may rise up to about $62,360. Usually, becoming a PTA is only a beginning because there are various opportunities for career development with or without advancement in education. One can advance knowledge and skills in one field out of the many that include geriatric, pediatric, cardiopulmonary, integumentary, musculoskeletal or neuromuscular (APTA, 2014). Fellowship programs enable one to obtain skills and knowledge in a physical therapy subspecialty. They usually require at least 1000 hours of clinical experience in three years or 36 months. One can as well advance by undertaking postprofessional degrees such as postdoctoral programs or postprofessional ScD and PhD programs. Professional Activities APTA is the only professional body for physical therapists. In fact, PTA students can join and nationally the student 2014 membership charge stood at $80 with variations from state to state (APTA, 2014). Various journals have been publishing research issues related to physical therapy including the Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy Journal located in Caroline Street of St. Louis, MO, the Journal of Physical Therapy published in Mullana-Amabala, Haryana, India and the Journal of the American Physical Therapy published in Baltimore. In most of the states, Continuing Educational Units (CEUs) are required for purposes of renewing practice licenses. CEUs are therefore required during every renewal with variations in the number of hours from state to state. For example, in the state of Alabama only 6 hours are required, 24 hours for Arkansas, none for Colorado, 20 hours for Illinois and 30 hours for Oklahoma among others (Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy (ASBPT), 2014). These continuing education requirements can be met in various ways including taking or attending seminars or lectures related to the profession either in person or online. Courses may as well be offered by accredited professional organization on relevant topics (Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy, 2008). Similarly, promoting a profession to outside audiences may satisfy the continuing education requirement leading to earning of a CEU. Each CEU comprises of ten hours of taking part in recognized continuing education session with qu alified sponsorship and instruction. Reflection/ Personal career Plan I believe that I can fit in this career field because of my desire to work with and assist persons with functional problems or ill health, with the aim of assisting them achieve functional abilities. At the end of the therapeutic regime, we (patient and I) will be able to see the results culminating from our hard work, a sign of valuable contribution to the recovery of an individual as well as quality of his life (APATA, 2014). This is bound to give me great satisfaction in my career as a PTA. Besides, I am a compassionate, caring and kind person with a passion of helping people. In order to be a professional PTA, my goal is to graduate as a competent entry-level PTA who functions effectively under supervision and direction of a licensed PT in the next two years. What some companies prefer to do in order to make the 401(k) plan more attractive for employees, is to match each employee's investment in the plan by a certain percent. Here is where the problem comes in. Though some companies match contributors either with cash or with a direct credit to the plan, other companies match with corporate stock. According to Richard Sasanow, a former assistant of public communications at Ernst and Young, "many experts consider this to be one of the riskiest investments for a 401 (k)-but may be worth it if you think your company has a great future." (Sasanow, 45) A recent survey shows that 18 percent of all companies made their matching contributions this way. Now for small, fast-growing businesses this would not seem as much of a risk since these companies' stock are generally on the increase. Les Miserables, by Victor Hugo, starts out with Valjean saying how he is 19 years old and a thief. The novel goes through his whole life. It explains the many conflicts he faces. But mainly it shows how he tries to escape his past during the French Revolution. Valjean was not a very wealthy man. He stole a piece of bread because he was hungry. He got tried and committed as if he had done a major crime and served 5 years in prison. He ended up doing 19 years of hard labor because he had tried to escape and failed. After he got out he had no where to go. A forgiving bishop decided to take him in. He feeds him and gives him clothes and shelter. Even after all that the bishop has done for him, Valjean steals silverware from the bishop. Once the bishop found out it was him who had stole it, the bishop tells the police that he gave it to Valjean, so Valjean could get off. After this Valjean decides to shape himself up. He sold the silver and moved to a town up north. He gets a job and he tries to start a life. Not only did he change his name, but he becomes a changed person as well. He eventually becomes mayor of this town. However, his past comes to haunt him. A police officer, which goes by the name of Javert, followed him to this town. Javert accuses another man of being the thief, so Valjean, being a changed man, turns himself in to save an innocent man. Eventually, Valjean escapes. When he is out he meets this woman Fantine, who is a prostitute. She is very sick and Valjean helps nurse her. On her deathbed, Fantine asks Valjean to take care of her daughter who is now owned by a money hungry family. Valjean agrees and buys her daughter, Cosette, from this family. He then takes her and all of the money he has left and flees to Paris. The novel then moves to 9 years later. This is during the French Revolution. Cosette is now a young adult.
